Chapter 19 : Chaos , Camera & Chemistry

If anyone had told Aditi that her pre-wedding photoshoot would feel like a festival mixed with mild torture, she would have laughed.

She wasn’t laughing now.

“Arjun, stop moving,” the photographer said for the fifth time.

“I’m not moving,” Arjun replied smoothly.

“I’m breathing.”

“That’s moving,” Aditi muttered.

He grinned—that annoying, confident, quirky smirk that always made her pulse jump.

Enter: The Chaos Crew

The garden was filled with people.

  1. Nisha (Aditi’s best friend) was already clicking behind-the-scenes photos.

  2. Rohit (Arjun’s friend) was pretending to direct everyone like a filmmaker.

  3. Cousins ran around with iced coffees.

  4. Arjun’s cool bua, Aunt Kavita, was loudly critiquing poses.

“Why are they standing like strangers?” she asked.

“They’re getting married, not applying for a passport!”

Aditi groaned.

Arjun leaned closer and whispered,

“Want to run away?”

She smiled despite herself.

“Only if you promise to come back.”

His eyes softened.

“Always.”

The Saree Incident

Aditi was dressed in a soft pastel saree—elegant, effortless, very her.

As she adjusted the pallu, Arjun’s gaze lingered a second too long.

Nisha noticed immediately.

“Oh ho,” she teased.

“Someone’s already emotionally married.”

Arjun raised his hands innocently.

“I’m just appreciating good design.”

Aditi arched a brow.

“Be careful. The designer bites.”

He leaned in slightly.

“Worth the risk.”

The Pose That Started Everything

“Stand closer,” the photographer instructed.

“Natural. Comfortable.”

Their arms brushed.

Then his hand—warm, steady—rested lightly at her waist, not pulling her in, just there.

Aditi inhaled sharply.

He felt it.

“You okay?” he murmured, low enough only she could hear.

She nodded.

“Yes. Just… aware.”

His thumb shifted—barely a movement.

Enough.

Click.

Click.

Nisha squealed.

“That’s the shot! That’s the one!”

Aditi shot her a glare.

Arjun chuckled softly.

“You’re blushing.”

“You’re enjoying this,” she accused.

“Immensely.”

Friends Who Know Too Much

During a break, Rohit handed Arjun a bottle of water.

“Control yourself,” he said under his breath.

“You look one compliment away from doing something scandalous.”

Arjun smirked.

“I’m behaving.”

“Barely,” Rohit replied.

Meanwhile, Nisha sat beside Aditi, nudging her shoulder.

“You like him,” she whispered.

Aditi didn’t deny it.

“I trust him,” she replied.

“That’s scarier.”

Nisha smiled softly.

“That’s love.”

Laughter Before the Lens

The final shots turned playful.

  1. Arjun twirled Aditi unexpectedly.

  2. She laughed—real, unguarded.

  3. Cousins clapped.

  4. Someone played music from a phone.

  5. Aunt Kavita danced for no reason at all.

For a moment, it wasn’t about weddings or expectations.

It was just joy.

Arjun leaned close again, voice gentle this time.

“You look happiest when you forget to be careful.”

She met his gaze.

“You make it easy.”

Ending Moment

As the shoot wrapped up, Arjun offered his arm.

“Coffee?” he asked.

“My treat. Surviving today deserves a reward.”

Aditi placed her hand in the crook of his elbow.

“Only if you promise,” she said softly,

“no professional poses.”

He smiled—slow, sincere.

“Only real ones.”
