The Wedding – Afternoon
The wedding hall was vibrant—strings of marigolds, fairy lights, and the sound of laughter floating over soft classical music.
Aditi
Aditi adjusted her emerald green saree, the silk catching the sunlight streaming through the windows. Her golden waist chain glimmered subtly around her waist, completing the look. She felt elegant, confident, and… a little nervous.
Her friend Nisha Kapoor, the bride, was radiant in a pastel pink lehenga, glowing with happiness. Nisha’s fiancé, Rohit Sharma, a kind-hearted software engineer with a shy smile, was charming the guests effortlessly. Both had been Aditi’s and Arjun’s college friends, the ones who had subtly orchestrated this wedding meetup.
Aditi’s younger brother, Karthik, was nowhere in sight, probably teasing her through messages already.
Arjun’s Arrival
Arjun entered the hall, all sharp lines and effortless charm in a cream-colored sherwani. His smirk was in place the moment he spotted Aditi.
The waist chain caught his eye first. Then her confident posture. Then her smile as she greeted their friends.
Damn, he thought. She looks… dangerous.
He walked over casually, keeping his gaze fixed on her, and greeted her warmly.
“Aditi,” he said, voice low, playful, “I hope the wedding doesn’t scare you.”
She arched an eyebrow, smiling faintly. “Scared? Of a wedding?”
“You know… crowds, gossip, people pairing off,” he teased. “Could be dangerous.”
Her lips curved into a subtle grin. “I think I can handle danger.”
Flirty Banter Begins
He leaned slightly closer, so only she could hear:
“That saree… that waist chain… completely unfair.”
She laughed softly, cheeks warming. “Is that your idea of flirting?”
“Maybe,” he replied, eyes glinting. “Or maybe I just can’t take my eyes off it.”
She looked away for half a second, then back at him, trying to hide the blush that threatened to give her away.
He smirked knowingly. “Relax. I won’t bite… unless you want me to.”
Friends’ Introductions
Nisha Kapoor (Bride): 25, cheerful, organized, loves fashion and social events. She’s Aditi’s college best friend, always playful and supportive, the type who enjoys matchmaking subtly.
Rohit Sharma (Groom): 27, calm, kind, software engineer. Arjun’s college friend, gentle and humorous, the kind of person who balances Nisha’s energy perfectly.
Both friends had orchestrated this wedding meetup deliberately, hoping their independent friends might finally notice each other in a casual setting.
Wedding Festivities and Flirting
As the ceremony continued, Arjun and Aditi found themselves sitting side by side, stealing glances and exchanging quiet jokes.
He whispered sarcastic comments about the overenthusiastic uncle dancing in the corner.
She teased him about taking notes on every guest’s outfit.
Their laughter was quiet but magnetic, drawing curious glances from Nisha and Rohit.
At one point, Arjun reached slightly closer, brushing a stray strand of hair from her face.
“Dangerous,” he murmured softly, eyes lingering on hers.
She shivered slightly but tried to maintain her composure.
“Don’t get used to touching your friends,” she replied playfully.
He leaned back, pretending to obey—but the smirk never left his face.
As the evening rolled on, Aditi caught herself stealing glances at him, noticing details she hadn’t before—his subtle confidence, the way he smiled at people, the charm he tried (and failed) to hide.
Arjun, meanwhile, couldn’t stop watching her—the way the saree fell perfectly, the confidence in her posture, the laughter that lit up her face.
